Welcome to UpKeep — Angelique Ngo
Welcoming Angelique Ngo to the UpKeep Family!
We’re so excited to welcome Angelique to the team this week! Angelique is joining us as our Workplace Experience Manager, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on board! Here is our interview with her!
We’re excited to welcome you to the UpKeep family today, Angelique! Tell us a little about yourself!
Hey hey! A little about myself, I was born and raised in Fresno, Ca, youngest out of 7 siblings (5 sisters and 1 brother)!! I’m quite passionate about being a helper, music & film, creating fun and meaningful experiences, and wellness (mental, physical, spiritually). Fun fact about me – I won a box of rice-a-roni and turtle car wax for placing 3rd in an annual scavenger hunt in Ventura, CA!
How did you first get into Operations?
Besides being on the Operations/Workplace Experience team at my previous job, Procore, growing up I’ve always enjoyed understanding how things work, whether it was an object, appliances, people, nature, etc. I’ve always been a curious human. There were a lot of “why” questions growing up. Now, I have Google to help me with my questions haha! I like being the one behind the scenes bettering process, workflows, experiences, my understanding about people, and their experience of their workplace.
Why are you excited to join UpKeep?
I get to help build and grow UpKeep’s culture and employee experience. Being able to facilitate a workspace where employees know that they matter and are cared for brings me a lot of joy!
What are your first thoughts about the culture and team so far?
The culture is very welcoming, appreciative, supportive, and FUN! The team, it’s like one big family! Love it!
Angelique, we have to know – what is the story behind Sleepercub, your electronic dream-pop band?
*Cue nervous laughter* Sleepercub was formed in 2012 by my partner David and I. We met through mutual friends. At that time in our lives, I was 24 and he was 32, we were on our journey to wellness and realized we shared the same sentiment about music. Playing, writing, listening to music was vital in helping us through our journeys and was (still is) like a spiritual experience. So from that point on, we’ve been producing and releasing music as Sleepercub!
Finally, and most importantly, what would you be if you were a kitchen utensil?
Tongs. I currently use my tongs for almost everything I cook but I actually haven’t tried making pancakes with them?! Guess I know what I’m doing this week.
