How to Create QR Codes

In UpKeep, we support UPC and QR codes for Assets and Parts. Easily check-in and scan out parts from your inventory by using the camera on your phone to read its barcode. By default, UpKeep will generate a QR code for you from the web application when information is entered in the barcode section.

With your QR code you can save the file or use our Export function to create a PDF to print. Most commonly people tend to laminate the QR codes and place them onto assets or parts. UpKeep also has a partnership with Camcode where you can purchase discounted asset tags.

[tip]Already have a QR code that you’d like to use? You can still add the barcode number to the asset or part to generate a new one. While this QR code won’t look exactly the same, if you scan either one, it’ll pull up the same asset/part.[/tip]

How to Create a Random QR Code

  1. Go to your Assets/Parts section
  2. Select the desired Asset/Part
  3. Select Create Random Barcode

How to Export QR Codes onto a PDF

You can also export your QR codes onto a PDF file to use. Keep in mind this is limited to 50 QR codes on a single PDF.

  1. Go to your Assets/Parts section
  2. Select Export
  3. Select Generate QR Codes and Print PDF
